Getting to Know... Soccer's Tori Howe

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Currently in her sophomore year, Tori Howe was the only Lumberjack to start and play every minute of every game during the 2007 season. The following is the first installment of a detailed profile series about each player on the NAU women's soccer team.

Born: May 6, 1989 in Phoenix, Ariz.
High School: Mountain View (Phoenix, Ariz.)
What's on TV: CSI: Las Vegas, Project Runway
In my IPod: Tom Petty. Lots of country. Alternative rock. And just some rap.
What I drive: A bicycle right now. I'm doing my part for the environment!
Favorite flicks: Rudy, Mean Girls, The Notebook.
What I'm reading: Only read for fun during the summer because of school. Like to read health books. I was reading Skinny Bitch, by Rory Freedman. It's a diet book for women, but with a straight-to-the-point approach.
Bookmarks: facebook.com, aol.com (for news articles), urbandictionary.com—when I don't get a phrase people tell me to go look it up on there.
On my walls: Pictures of friends and family. NAU soccer poster and schedule.
Superstitions: I have to brush my teeth before practice, games, exercise—basically any type of physical workout I need to brush first.
Worst habit: Biting my nails.
Love to trade places with: Victoria Beckham
First job: I worked for my Dad's landscaping crew. I would plant flowers and do that type of stuff. I know how to install a sprinkler system.
Favorite city to visit: Bandon, Ore. My family has a cabin there. We deep-sea fish and can do a lot of other stuff.
Favorite team as a kid: Arizona Rattlers. My Dad has had season tickets since 1996. We have sat by the same people for the last 12 years! It's fun.
Favorite athlete to watch in another sport: Michael Phelps.
Favorite value in others: Sincerity.
Favorite value in yourself: Hard-working.
For dinner: Macoroni & Cheese. It's been my favorite meal since I was a kid.
Talent I'd most like to have: Being artistic.
Dream date: David Beckham. It's every soccer girl's dream.
Physical attribute I like best about myself: What can you say that doesn't make you sound cocky?
And least: My height.
My greatest love: Fishing. And running outdoors.
My hero: My parents.
My bucket list: Learn how to kiteboard. Go backpacking across Europe. Run a marathon.
My motto: Well our soccer one is “too legit to quit”.
