Countdown to Signing Day: NAU's Super Bowl History

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Northern Arizona
University has a strong tradition of connections to the Super Bowl
with former players and coaches playing and coaching on the big
stage.
NAU wide receiver coach Francis St. Paul was a member of the 2002
St. Louis Rams Super Bowl team in 2002. He is one of 10 former NAU
players to be a member of a team that reached the Super Bowl.
Former Lumberjack Keith O'Neil became the seventh former
Lumberjack to be a part of a winning team in Super Bowl 41 with the
Indianapolis Colts.
DID YOU KNOW…Mike Mercer, a Lumberjack in 1960, kicked the
first field goal in Super Bowl history back in Super Bowl I as his
Kansas City team lost 35-10 to Green Bay and Vince Lombardi. The
field goal was 31 yards and happened in the second quarter,
bringing the Chiefs within 14-10 heading into halftime.
