Harris Places Seventh on 3-Meter at 2nd Annual Arizona Diving Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. – Northern
Arizona diver Taryn Harris finished seventh in the 3-meter
Women's Championship final with a score of 256.25 at the 2nd
Annual Wildcat Diving Invitational on Friday. Harris and the
Lumberjacks will compete in the 1-meter and platform events on
Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.
Harris, from East Wenatchee, Wash., advanced to the finals scoring
285.25 in the preliminary round with the competition's
fourth-best performance. The Lumberjacks' junior diver moved
on to the championship round in a meet featuring 70 divers from 12
schools, a list which included top programs in Arizona, Arizona
State, BYU, Buffalo, Stanford and Wisconsin.
In the 3-meter competition, divers performed six optional dives.
The dives had to come from five different groups and no dive could
be repeated.
Along with Harris, five other NAU divers took part in
Friday's 1-meter competition, and the same group will be in
action the rest of this weekend with the 3-meter and platform
scheduled to take place. Results from Friday's preliminary
round and consolation round will be posted on Saturday, November
21.
