Women's Volleyball / November 21, 2009
GREELEY, Colo. – Kelli
Dallmann recorded her third triple-double of the season during
Northern Arizona volleyball's 3-1 loss to Northern Colorado
on Saturday at the Butler-Hancock Center in the Lumberjacks'
season finale. The Lumberjacks fell by scores of 25-22, 25-19,
20-25 and 25-16 finishing the year 8-17 overall and 5-11 in the Big
Sky Conference.
NAU played one its more consistent matches of the fall hitting
over .200 in three of the four sets on Saturday. The Lumberjacks
hit .216 for the match compared to Northern Colorado's
(19-11, 12-4 BSC) .289 hitting percentage.
Dallmann, from Peoria, Ariz., completed her freshman season with
another triple double, her third of the season and two more than
any other player in the Big Sky Conference this fall. The
freshman outside hitter and setter posted 16 assists, 15 kills and
10 digs on Saturday placing her on a short list of NCAA Division I
women's volleyball players with multiple triple-doubles this
year.
Dallmann ended the season with averages of 2.43 kills-per-set,
3.74 assists-per-set and 2.22 digs-per-set. She is one of only four
players in Division I women's volleyball to average more than
two kills, three assists and two digs-per-set.
In her final collegiate match, Jana Mays-Robinson totaled a
team-high 21 assists splitting time with Dallmann at the setter
position for the match and most of the 2009 season. Anna Gott
tallied a match-high 27 digs increasing her team-leading 4.50
digs-per-set entering the match, a number which is among the best
in the conference and in the nation for freshman liberos.
The Lumberjacks will finish 2009 either tied or in sole position
for seventh place in the Big Sky standings. NAU will miss the Big
Sky Championships for the second consecutive year, but returns
nearly its entire roster next season for a shot at being one of the
four teams to advance to the conference postseason.
