BOISE, Idaho – Freshman outside hitter Lauren Campbell posted her second straight double-double, but Northern Arizona women's volleyball suffered its first loss of the season in a narrow five-set match against Cal State Northridge on Saturday at the Boise State Bronco Invitational. The Lumberjacks fell 3-2 by sets of 25-23, 11-25, 26-24, 14-25, 12-15.

NAU (1-1) opened Saturday's match in contrast to Friday's win over Boise State by taking a close first set yet falling quickly in the second.

The Lumberjacks held a 2-1 edge entering a potential match-clinching fourth set, and with Cal State Northridge clinging to an 11-10 lead, the Lumberjacks were out scored 14-4 to close the set.

NAU battled back and were in position to win the final set and stay unbeaten, but with the score 12-12, Cal State Northridge (1-1) clinched the win with a late 5-2 run.

"We don't have a set lineup yet," said head coach Craig Choate regarding the close loss. "We don't have any rhythm going. Northridge was physically better than us. We fought enough to keep ourselves in the match and we had a chance.  We couldn't close it and they did."

Campbell and freshman Anna Gott once again made their presence known on Saturday with encore performances that rivaled their notable debuts against Boise State on Friday night. Campbell finished with 15 digs and a team-high 13 kills while Gott added a team-high 27 digs.

Freshman Kelli Dallman filled up the stat line as well with a team-high .292 hitting percentage, 11 assists, 10 kills, eight digs, and four service aces.

The Lumberjacks will play Tulsa in the final match of the Bronco Invitational on Saturday at 4 p.m.
