Landry and Canada Advance to Quarterfinals at FIBA Americas Championships

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Former Lumberjack Kyle
Landry saw action in three of the four games for Canada in the
preliminary rounds of the FINA Americas Championships, helping
Canada go 2-2 and advance into the quarterfinals against Argentina
(2-2) Tuesday.
Landry played 27 minutes, scoring five points and grabbing five
rebounds.
In Group A, the teams that qualified for the quarterfinals were
Puerto Rico (4-0), Uruguay (3-1), Canada (2-2) and Mexico (1-3). In
Group B, the top four were Brazil (4-0), Argentina (2-2), Dominican
Republic (2-2) and Panama (1-3).
The quarter-finals begin on Tuesday -- when Canada takes on
Argentina -- and run until Friday. The top four teams at the
tournament advance to the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
