GERMANY – Josh Wilson has a new teammate. Actually he is an old, new teammate. Playing in Germany with Ehingen Steeples in the Germany-Pro B League, Wilson has been joined on the roster by his former teammate from Northern Arizona University, Stephen Sir, for the second half of the season.

Sir played in Switzerland last season, averaging 10.4 points for Sdent BBC Nyon.

Wilson has averaged 15.1 points per game over the first 14 games of the season along with 5.1 assists. He shot 45 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc. He scored a season-high 29 points in his second game of the season against NBC.

They play their first game together on Jan. 17 versus RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf. Wilson and Sir were teammates at NAU from 2005-07, helping the Lumberjacks to two Big Sky Conference regular season titles and two Big Sky Tournament Championship game appearances.

Wilson, who hails from Longview, Wash., finished his career as the school record holder in assists (636) and minutes played (3,202). He became the 24th member of the 1,000-point club at NAU and was the only player in Division I to rank among the top 40 in assists per game each season from 2005-08.

Sir made 323 career three pointers and ranks second on the all-time NCAA three-point percentage list (46.9) and tops among all players with 300 or more made. He finished his career first on the all-time NAU three-point percentage list (48.3) and led the NCAA Division I in three-point percentage in 2005-06.

The duo is part of a successful group of former players currently employed overseas. Ruben Boykin, Jr, plays in Italy, averaging 12.7 points and 7.3 rebounds for Fileni Bpa Jesi. Kyle Landry (Czech Republic), Ryan McDade (Finland) and Dan McClintock (Ukraine) are all on active rosters.

Overall, 23 former players have played professional basketball since finishing their careers at NAU.
