Women's Golf Improves in Second Round; Parsons Shoots 73

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Freshman
Kaitlen Parsons shot a one-over par 73 to lead the Northern Arizona
women's golf team in the second round of the Price's
Give Em Five Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State. The
Lumberjacks improved to 10th overall after posting a 301
team score.
Parsons had the low round of the
tournament for the team thru two rounds after a 78 in the first
round. She improved to 34th in the individual standings.
Sophomore Stephanie Kim is the top individual for the Lumberjacks,
posting a two-over par 74 to tie for 23rd after 36
holes.
Seniors Alexa Kim and Dakin Whitmer
posted rounds of 76 and 78, respectively on Tuesday. Freshman
Catherine Benscoter recorded an 83, improving six strokes during
the second round.
Host New Mexico State and Baylor
are tied for the team lead at four-over par 580. UTEP, Mississippi
State and North Texas round out the top five schools in the team
standings. The third and final round will be contested on
Wednesday.
