Volleyball Drops 3-2 Match at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –
Sophomore Lexi Sullivan
totaled 18 kills in Northern Arizona volleyball's 3-2 defeat at
Sacramento State on Friday night. The Lumberjacks fell by
sets of 25-22, 12-25, 25-17, 25-16, and 15-13.
NAU (7-12, 3-6 BSC) traded sets
with Sacramento State (12-12, 5-4 BSC) till the fifth entering
the deciding set tied 2-2. The Lumberjacks hit .067 in
the fifth while the Hornets finished the match hitting .250 in the
final set.
Sullivan totaled a season-high in
kills finishing with her highest total since the beginning of the
2009-10 season. The sophomore outside hitter missed the
majority of last year with a season-ending injury against
Idaho State.
Freshman Niki Small added 10
kills with a .207 hitting percentage while sophomore Kelli Dallmann
posted another double-double with 45 assists and 19 digs.
Four other Lumberjacks turned in
double-digit dig totals led by sophomore Anna Gott with 21
digs, junior Kobi
Christensen with 16, freshman Keely Stevenson
with 15, and sophomore Lexie Schroeder
with 11.
NAU hit .109 as a team on the night
and Sacramento State turned in a .210 team hitting
percentage. The Hornets had three players finish with
double-digit kills led by Kelsey Elston with a team-high 11 kills
and .476 hitting percentage.
NAU is off the rest of the weekend
but returns home next week for matches against Weber State and
Idaho State. The Lumberjacks play Weber State on Thursday,
Oct. 28 and Idaho State on Saturday, Oct. 30. Both matches
are set for 7 p.m. starts.

intercollegiate teams record a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher led
by women's soccer at 3.42. Women's basketball was close behind at
3.38, followed by women's cross country (3.38), volleyball (3.33),
women's golf (3.31), men's cross country (3.26) and swimming and
diving (3.22).
