OGDEN, Utah – After recording her fourth-straight shutout
and breaking the school record for career shutouts in the
Lumberjacks 1-0 win over San Francisco last Friday, Northern
Arizona junior goalkeeper Tori Rocke has been
named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. The weekly award went
to NAU for the third-straight week, as senior defender Kristi
Andreassen earned the accolade in each of the last two weeks.
Weber State junior Jessie Baddley earned Offensive Player of the
Week honors.
Rocke stopped the only San Francisco shot on goal, coming on a
long try from Don junior Megan Connor in the 63rd minute, to notch
her fourth consecutive shutout (one shared) and break the previous
school record of 13 career solo shutouts held by Liz Winkelblech.
The redshirt junior from Garden Grove, Calif. now has 14 career
solo shutouts and one shared shutout, establishing a new program
record.
Over the last-four NAU games, Rocke has made nine saves while
not allowing a goal. In addition to breaking the career shutout
record, Rocke is also the all-time leader among NAU goalies in
career win percentage (.595), is third in program history in career
saves (217), and is fifth in fewest goals against (62).
Rocke and The Lumberjacks bring a 367 minute and four second
shutout streak into the start of Big Sky play, having not allowed a
goal since September 12 at USC. The team begins conference action
on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Idaho State.
