Men's Basketball Player Rogers Claims Hoops Honor

OGDEN, Utah - Northern Arizona's Gabe Rogers has been selected as the Big Sky Conference men's basketball player of the week after scoring a career-high 31 points in a road victory over Pepperdine.

Rogers, a 6-foot-2, sophomore guard from Houston, Texas, drained a career-high seven 3-pointers, and made 12-of-18 shots from the field. Rogers missed just one of his 3-point attempts en route to eclipsing his previous career-high in scoring of 20 points. Rogers also tied a career-high with four rebounds, dished out three assists, had two steals and no turnovers.

Rogers helped the Lumberjacks to their fourth straight victory. Northern Arizona has won road games in Georgia over Kennesaw State and at Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif., during its four-game winning streak.

This is Rogers' first career player of the week honor.
