FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona volleyball's Lauren Campbell and football's Dan Pela were named to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District 8 Teams voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America. 

Campbell was one of six players named to the District 8 first team, a list that included three players from Stanford, one from Oregon and Oregon State. Campbell, a sophomore from Covington, Wash., is majoring in mechanical engineering and holds a 4.0 grade point average.  She was a Big Sky All-Academic and Golden Eagle Scholar-Athlete selection as a freshman.

This fall, Campbell has played in 18 matches with seven starts while averaging 1.89 kills per set and 1.13 digs per set.  She has elevated her play in the Big Sky Conference season raising her kill total to 2.18 per set.  

Pela, a junior from Phoenix Horizon High School, is majoring in health science with a 3.57 GPA. He has seen action in all eight games with 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one breakup and one fumble recovery. He is a three-time Golden Eagle Scholar-Athlete recipient (2008-10) and was selected to the 2009 Big Sky All-Academic team.

Both players will now advance to the national ballot in consideration for the Academic All-America teams presented by EPSN.

NAU is one of six schools with three or more first-team selections on the three fall all-district 8 teams, joining Stanford, Boise State, Fresno State, Portland and Washington State. Soccer's Kristi Andreassen was also a first-team all-district selection.
