Swimming and Diving's Harris Claims Second WAC Award

DENVER, Colo. – Northern
Arizona swimming and diving's Taryn Harris was selected
Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Diver of the Week.
Harris finished first on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards
in a double dual last weekend in San Diego, Calif.
Harris, from East Wenatchee, Wash., led NAU diving to wins against
San Diego and San Diego State on both boards while helping the
Lumberjacks place first, second, and third in each event.
Harris won on the 1-meter with a score of 273.30 and scored 305.30
on the 3-meter. The junior diver finished 20 points ahead of the
teammate Cassie Anderson on the 1-meter and 40 points ahead of
teammate Lana Christensen on the 3-meter.
The diver of the week award was the
second for Harris this season and the fourth diving award for the
Lumberjacks this year. The swimming team has totaled two
awards this year with Fi Connell winning twice.
Harris and the Lumberjacks were competing in their final dual meet
of the season and will participate in the WAC Championships on
February 24-27.

Idaho; Fi Connell, Northern Arizona; and Caitlin Macky, San Jose
State.
DID YOU KNOW…The
Lumberjacks had 11 of the 15 intercollegiate teams record a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher led by women's soccer at
3.42. Women's basketball was close behind at 3.39, followed
by women's cross country (3.35), women's golf (3.29),
swimming and diving (3.25) volleyball (3.22) and men's cross
country (3.19).
