Women's Basketball Recruit Featured in ESPN Rise Magazine

BRISTOL, Conn. – Incoming
freshman guard Shakila Boler, who will suit up for the NAU women's
basketball team this coming fall, is featured on the March cover of
ESPN Rise, a magazine that connect fans to high school athletes
around the country. Boler recently signed her National
Letter of Intent in November.
As a sophomore for Kennedy High
School (St. Paul, Minn.), Boler averaged 16.2 points and 5.9
rebounds-per-game.
After transferring to Roosevelt
(Minneapolis, Minn.), Boler averaged 15.0 points-per-game in an
injury shortened season and led the Teddies to a 20-10 record
scoring 39 points against Jordan High School (Jordan, Minn.) in the
Minnesota state playoffs.
Boler was sidelined with another
injury during her senior year appearing in 11 games, but the 5-9
guard is listed as the No. 23-ranked point guard in the 2010 class
presented by HoopGurlz/ESPN recruiting services. She was
ranked the No. 25 player in the country according to www.GregSwain.com
during her junior season.
Boler will be joined next fall by
five other highly regarded recruits for head coach Laurie
Kelly.
