Men's Tennis Home to Host Scottsdale Community College Sunday

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona (7-4) will look to end
a brief two-match losing streak on Sunday, hosting Scottsdale
Community College at 1 p.m. in its penultimate home match of the
2010 season. The Lumberjacks had won five-consecutive matches
before enduring a pair of defeats last weekend in Las Cruces. After
Sunday, Northern Arizona will have just one remaining home match
this season in a date with Montana next Friday, March 12.
Northern Arizona Quick Hits
Northern Arizona went 1-2 last weekend in Las Cruces, N.M.,
defeating Texas-Pan American but dropping decisions to
Texas-Arlington and No. 59 New Mexico State…The Lumberjacks
are 3-0 in home matches this season and have outscored their
opponents 20-1…Dating back to 2008, NAU has won its
last-nine home matches…NAU plays it last-eight regular
season matches, including four Big Sky-matches, away from Flagstaff
(seven road, one neutral)…Freshman Hugo Ramadier is a
team-best 9-2 this season and moved up to No. 2 singles last
weekend…sophomores Andrew Reiff and Robin Pezzutto have a
team-best 8-3 doubles record playing at No. 1 and 3.
Scouting Scottsdale Community College
The Artichokes have not reported any match results or season
statistics in 2010. According to their preseason schedule, they
have only played three matches this season, including a tilt on
Thursday against Paradise Valley Community College. They have
played one other university, facing D-II Western New Mexico in a
scrimmage on February 11.
Northern Arizona has dominated the all-time series against
Scottsdale Community College, posting a 15-1 all-time record. The
Lumberjacks only loss to the Artichokes came in Scottsdale in 1988.
The teams had not met since 1993 until last year, when NAU won 7-0
in the valley.
