CHANDLER, Ariz. – Freshman
Stephanie Kim broke the Northern Arizona single-round record with a
four-under par 68 and is tied for the lead after two rounds of the
Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ocotillo Golf Course.
Kim carded the 68 in the opening
round and followed with a two-over par 74 in the second round. The
Phoenix Desert Vista High School product is tied for Lauren Howell
from Montana at two-under par 142 heading into the third and final
round.
“I was not expecting the
school record,” said Kim. “I tried to play the round
one shot at a time and I felt ready for the round going into
it.”
Kim's round included five
birdies, three bogeys and an eagle. She holed out on the fifth hole
from 110 yards with a pitching wedge for the eagle.
She broke the previous record of 69

Invitational and former Lumberjack Sophia Choi tied the record at
the 2008 NCAA West Regional. Junior Bethany Leclair also tied the

fourth time this fall at the Grand Canyon Invitational.

23-team field, trailing Texas El Paso, Nevada and Portland State.
The Lumberjacks shot round of 301 and 302.

Buck are tied for 17th at 152. Alexa Kim posted rounds
of 78 and 74, while Buck carded rounds of 75 and 77. Junior Bethany
Leclair is tied for 43rd with scores of 80 and 77.
