CANADA – Rising sophomore Lauren Stuart will compete in the hammer at the 2010 Canadian Junior Championships on July 4 looking for an opportunity to qualify for the Canadian team competing at the 13th International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Junior Championships.

The World Junior Championships are being held on Canadian soil in Moncton July 19-25. Stuart, who hails from Smithers, B.C., is ranked 36^th in the world junior rankings in the event. All winners at the World Junior Trials will earn an automatic berth on the 2010 World Junior Championships Team.

Stuart, who was a 2010 Big Sky All-Academic selection, was a triple gold medalist in the hammer, discus and shot put at the B.C. High School Track & Field Championships
