Volleyball Edged Out by Southern Utah

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Northern Arizona
volleyball played Southern Utah tight for five sets but lost 3-2 at
the UniWyo Sports Complex on Saturday. The Lumberjacks fell
by sets of 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 19-25, and 11-15.
NAU (1-2) dropped its second match
at the Wyoming Invitational after splitting its two opening matches
on Friday.
The Lumberjacks lost a close first
set then fought back to win the next two. Southern Utah (2-1)
answered in the fourth set evening the score at 2-2. The
Thunderbirds led wire to wire in the fifth set to clinch the
match.
NAU totaled a .136 hitting
percentage for the match while Southern Utah finished at
.202. Junior Kobi
Christensen led the Lumberjacks with 14 kills (2.8 kps).
Freshman Niki
Small added 11 kills (2.2 kps) and was the only other NAU
player in double digit kills.
Sophomore Anna Gott turned in a
season-high 28 digs (5.6 dps) and sophomore Kelli Dallmann
totaled 48 assists (9.6 aps).

last 12 overall the NAU student-athletes have recorded a 3.00
cumulative GPA. Since 1998, NAU student athletes have earned a 3.0
cumulative GPA or higher in 21 of the 23 semesters.
