Volleyball Finishes Wyoming Invite; Falls 3-0 in Final Match

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Northern
Arizona volleyball lost to Wyoming, 3-0, in the last match of the
Wyoming Invitational at the UniWyo Sports Complex on
Saturday. The Lumberjacks fell by sets of 25-16, 25-14, and
27-25.
NAU (1-3) fell behind early in the
first set but fought back late in the set cutting the Wyoming (3-0)
lead to three four times. In the second set, the Lumberjacks
played with the Cowgirls for the first half of the set but a 10-1
run pushed Wyoming ahead 2-0.
The Lumberjacks led for the
majority of the third set but were unable to push the match into a
fourth set despite holding a 23-20 edge. Wyoming
battled back to tie the set at 25-25 and won two straight points to
seal the decision.
Sophomore Lexi Sullivan led NAU
with 11 kills (3.67 kps). Freshman Niki Small converted
7-of-11 attacks and led the Lumberjacks with a .545 hitting
percentage.
As a team, NAU posted a .072
hitting percentage. The Cowgirls hit .297 on the
day.
Freshman Kelli Dallmann finished
with the matches' only double-double. Dallmann
collected 32 (10.67) assists and 10 digs (3.34 dps).
Sophomore Anna Gott posted a team-high 12 digs (4.0 dps).
