Women's Golf in Second at Gonzaga Tournament; Two Among Top Five Overall

and freshman Kaitlen
Parsons led the Northern Arizona women's golf team Monday in
the first day of action at Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational.
The Lumberjacks trail BYU by a single stroke after posting rounds
of 302 and 299.
"I am completely delighted with the
way we played today in the first tournament," said Head Coach Brad
Bedortha.
Parsons carded a one-under par 71
in the first round in her collegiate debut and posted a 75 in the
second round to finish tied for fifth after 36 holes at 146.
Stephanie Kim, the defending Big Sky Conference champion, had
rounds of 74 and 71, tying for second overall heading into the
final round on Tuesday morning.
NAU trails BYU and leads Portland
State by six strokes and host Gonzaga and Oregon State by eight
strokes overall.
Senior Alexa Kim recorded an
81 in the first round before rebounding with a two-over par 74 in
the second round. Senior Dakin Whitmer posted
rounds of 77 and 81, while freshman Jessie Joachim also had an
impressive debut with scores of 80 and 79.
