Women's Tennis Impressive on First Day of Aggie Invitational

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Northern Arizona totaled three
singles wins and three doubles wins on the first day of play at the
New Mexico State Aggie Invitational. Joining Northern Arizona in
the fall season-opening tournament are players from host New Mexico
State, New Mexico, UTEP, Western New Mexico, Lee College and
Tarleton State College.
Senior Edit
Suhajda won a singles match against an opponent from Lee
College in the Crimson bracket while senior Yumi Hasegawa picked up a
singles victory in the White bracket. Rounding out victorious
singles play for NAU was sophomore Nicole Perez in a 6-0, 6-1
win over Western New Mexico's Vanessa Molina.
In doubles play, Perez and senior Aimee Oki earned an 8-4 win in
the Crimson bracket while Hasegawa and Suhajda teamed to pick up
two victories in the White Bracket.
Tournament play continues Saturday in Las Cruces with singles
action beginning at 9 a.m.

DID YOU KNOW… The volleyball team had
the best semester GPA at 3.49 in the spring of 2010, followed
closely by women's cross country (3.47), women's golf (3.41),
soccer (3.38) and women's basketball (3.36). Overall, 11 of the 15
teams had a 3.0 or higher semester GPA.
