Women's Tennis Concludes Play in Las Vegas with Four Singles Wins

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Northern Arizona won four consolation
singles matches on Sunday, all against opponents from Illinois
State, to conclude play at the UNLV Fall Invitational.
Senior Yumi Hasegawa had the easiest win on Sunday, defeating
Illinois State's Hannah Esker, 6-4, 6-0, Senior Orsi Golovics
claimed a 7-5, 7-5 win over Carolina Abello while sophomores Nicole Perez and Malia Wahinepio were also victorious on Sunday.
NAU also played three doubles matches but could not add any
victories. Perez and senior Aimee Oki came close to a win with a
9-8 loss to a duo from Texas.
The Lumberjacks will continue Fall play back in Las Vegas for
the ITA Regionals beginning on October 13.

performances in 2008-09. The award is based on team grade point
averages, graduation rates and the number of all-conference
performers with a grade point average above a 3.0, as well as Men's
and Women's All Sports points.
