Women's Basketball Evens Big Sky Record at 1-1, Wins at Weber State

Box Score FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Sophomore Amy Patton scored 19 points for Northern Arizona women's basketball in the Lumberjacks first win of the Big Sky Conference season at Weber State, 69-62, on Saturday.
NAU (6-9, 1-1 BSC) came out shooting 48 percent in the first half and limited Weber State to 40 percent shooting from the field. The women converted on 13-of-27 field goals in the first 20 minutes.
Patton made 50 percent of her shots going 6-of-12 from the field with a three pointer and 6-of-9 from the free throw line. She also collected six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 31 minutes of action.
Four Lumberjacks scored in double figures with Patton who turned in the game-high. Sophomore Tyler Stephens-Jenkins collected 12 points while senior Melissa Spaich posted a season-high 11 points, and Caty Huntington chipped in 10 points off the bench.
NAU was outrebounded by Weber State but turned the ball over a season-low 10 times and forced 20 turnovers. The Lumberjacks made the most of the fast break opportunities outscoring the Wildcats 10-0 in transition.
The Lumberjacks fought back from a seven-point deficit in the second half to win for the first time on the road this year. NAU was 0-5 on the road this year prior to Saturday.
