Women's Golfer Leclair Wins Big Sky Weekly Honor

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Northern Arizona senior Bethany Leclair has been selected as the Black Clover Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after tying for medalist honors at the Lumberjack Shootout.
Leclair, a senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., fired a one-under-par 215 to lead Northern Arizona to the team championship. Leclair opened with a one-over-par 73, and followed with back-to-back 71s to set a personal best 54-hole score. She tied Carla Cooper of Tarleton State for medalist honors. It was Leclair's first collegiate victory and her 71s were her second-best single-round scores.
Leclair and Northern Arizona set a school 54-hole record score of 871, winning the tournament by 14 shots over Florida International and Indiana.
It is the ninth Big Sky Player of the Week honor earned by a Lumberjack player this season by five different players. It is the first career honor for Leclair.
The tournament was played March 14-16 at Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
