Former Linebacker Worthington Joins German League's New Yorker Lions

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Former linebacker Reid Worthington will join teammate Michael Herrick and play for the New Yorker Lions of the German Football League, the team announced this week.
Worthington, a native of Yorba Linda, Calif., was named to the 2010 All-Big Sky first-team. He was named the team's defensive most valuable player, leading the team in tackles with 67. He also recorded 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and one fumble recovery with a career-high tying 11 tackles against Weber State. He played for NAU in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
One of the eight teams in the Northern Division, the most competitive of all leagues in Europe, the Lions were formerly named the Braunschweig Lions and have won seven German Bowl Championships, the most of any German Football League team.
