Chase Cartwright Selected Big Sky Co-Offensive Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah – Junior quarterback Chase Cartwright has been named the Big Sky Conference ROOT SPORTS Co-Offensive Player of the Week, announced today by the league office. Cartwright is the first Lumberjack offensive player to win the award this season.

Trailing by 17 points with eight minutes left in the third quarter, the Chandler native made his first appearance of the season. Eight plays later Cartwright connected with Nick Cole for a 42-yard touchdown pass. On NAU's next drive, Cartwright threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jesse Brantley for the last score of the quarter. Entering the fourth quarter down 38-27 Cartwright continued his excellent play as he found R.J. Rickert in the end zone for a four-yard touchdown pass. Cartwright was able to give NAU some momentum as he helped the Lumberjacks erase the double digit deficit and come away with the win on the road.

Cartwright completed 16-of-19 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
