FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona football team saw a slight drop in this week's national polls that were released on Monday. The Lumberjacks are ranked 19th in The Sports Network Poll, while the FCS Coaches Poll has NAU ranked 21st. In the College Sports Madness Poll, the Lumberjacks are slotted 17th.
Northern Arizona fell on the road to then ranked No. 7/8 Montana State 36-7 in its first Big Sky road contest. The 36 points by MSU was the most by a Lumberjack opponent this season.
Senior safety Lucky Dozier led the Northern Arizona defense with 11 tackles, while senior linebacker Austin Hasquet was solid on defense against Montana State. Hasquet registered eight tackles in addition to picking-off the Bobcats' DeNarius McGhee and returning it for his first career touchdown.
The Lumberjacks continue road play on Saturday when they travel to Sacramento State for a 6:05 p.m. kickoff at Hornet Stadium.
