/ September 15, 2013
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Senior safety Lucky Dozier was named the College Sports Madness Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, announced today by the website. It is the first honor of the season for an NAU player.
Dozier scored the game-winning touchdown for the Lumberjacks when he picked off UC Davis' Jimmy Laughrea with 9:05 to go in the game and returned it for a touchdown. At the time the Lumberjacks trailed the Aggies by three points. The score gave NAU its first points of the game since six minutes to go in the first quarter, as the Lumberjacks went on to defeat UC Davis 21-10 en route to their first victory of the season.
Dozier's interception return is the longest so far this season in the Big Sky.
