FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona Track and Field joined the City of Flagstaff Sustainability Project and the Flagstaff Area Stream Team to volunteer for the 2014 National Make a Difference Day.

A total of 60 'Jacks participated for a combined 175.50 hours of service last Saturday in the downtown area. The team planted trees and other native vegetation, moved rocks and gravel while also creating a Low Impact Design rainwater feature to benefit the Rio de Flag watershed.

"Thanks to the efforts of the NAU Track and Field team, we were able to turn a neighborhood eyesore into attractive neighborhood open space that will benefit our Rio de Flag watershed," said McKenzie Jones, City of Flagstaff Sustainability Specialist.
