Upshur Named College Sports Madness Preseason Men's Basketball Player of the Year

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona senior guard Quinton Upshur was named the College Sports Madness Men's Basketball Preseason Big Sky Player of the Year, announced today. Upshur was also named to the first team, while senior guard Aaseem Dixon received second team preseason honors.
Upshur was named the 2013-14 Big Sky Men's Basketball Newcomer of the Year and earned All-Big Sky First Team honors. As the team's most valuable player, he averaged 15.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. He finished the season with 491 points, the ninth-best total in school history
Dixon appeared in all 32 games, while averaging 11.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 assists per game. He registered 17 double digit scoring games and dished out three or more assists 13 times. Dixon led the team in minutes played (1,026) for the fourth-most in school history in a single season.
