Ryan Hawkins Named The Sports Network and ROOT SPORTS Big Sky Co-Special Teams Player of the Week

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. Northern Arizona junior kicker Ryan Hawkins was named The Sports Network and ROOT SPORTS Big Sky Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, announced today by the organization. It is the first national weekly accolade of Hawkins' career and the third straight conference honor.

For the third straight week, Hawkins put forth a solid performance on the field to help lift the Lumberjacks to a 23-21 win over UC Davis. Hawkins scored 11 of NAU's points, including the first six points of the game. He connected on all three field goal attempts (37-41-33) and went 2-for-2 in extra point attempts. Hawkins had six kickoffs for an average of 60.2 yards per kick; five out of the six were for touchbacks. Hawkins registered five punts for 259 yards, a long of 60 and an average of 51.8 yards per punt. Two were for touchbacks and one landed inside the 20.
