Game Notes

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men's basketball team will continue play in the Emerald Coast Classic as the games move to Fort Walton Beach. Fla. Tip-off versus the Jaguars on Friday is set for 11:30 a.m. AZ/1:30 p.m. ET. 

NAU is coming off a 65-53 loss at Middle Tennessee. The Lumberjacks face Southern on Friday, and then either Eastern Illinois or North Carolina Central on Saturday. NAU's opponent will be determined on Friday.

NAU has never played any of its three potential opponents this weekend. 

The game will not be televised, but all games can be watched online at www.EmeraldCoastClassic.com Fans can listen to the game on HITS 106.1 FM, KNOT 100.9 FM & 1450 AM, and www.Hits106.gcmaz.com. Fans in the Phoenix area can tune into Money Radio 1510 AM & 99.3 FM. Anthony DeFazio will be providing play-by-play.

Northern Arizona Facts

• Head coach Jack Murphy enters his third season at NAU with a 29-40 overall record and 20-20 Big Sky mark.

• Five different Lumberjacks have scored in double figures for NAU this season.

• Quinton Upshur leads NAU with 13.6 points per game, while Kris Yank and Aaseem Dixon are both averaging 11.2 ppg.

• Senior center Len Springs recorded 58 blocked shots last season to lead the Big Sky. It tied for the third-most in a single season by an NAU player. He currently has nine so far this season.

• The Lumberjacks are currently 1-0 at home and 0-4 on the road. NAU's last non-conference road win was on Nov. 9, 2013 at UTSA.

• Series History - First Meeting

• NAU's game with Southern is the third of four in the Emerald Coast Classic.

• Head coach Roman Banks is 60-41 in four seasons with Southern.

• Adrian Rodgers leads SU with 11.4 points per game. He's led SU in scoring three out of its five games with a season-high 23 points versus LSU-Alexandria.

• The Jaguars are averaging 59.4 points per game to their opponents' 71.8. SU is shooting 38.4 percent from the floor and 65.9 percent from the free throw line.

• SU's has scored 76 points twice this season.

• Southern' s lone win of the season was against LSU-Alexandria, 76-65.
