Women's Hoops' Lusain Named to CSM Preseason Big Sky Second Team

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona women's basketball junior Brittani Lusain was named to the College Sports Madness (CSM) Big Sky Preseason All-Conference Second Team, the website announced Tuesday morning. It is Lusain's first preseason accolade of her career.
Lusain is the team's leading returning scorer and rebounder after averaging 10.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season. Both averages ranked third on the team, but she will be looked upon to fill the void left by Erikka Banks and Raven Anderson, who was NAU's top two scorers and rebounders.
The San Diego, Calif. product ranked sixth in the Big Sky in assists with a team-leading 4.1 per game and begins her third season in Flagstaff already sixth in program history with 261 career assists. The versatile guard also tied for the team-lead with 22 three-pointers made and was one of two players to start all 30 games in 2014-15.
Lusain, the 2013-14 Big Sky Outstanding Freshman and CSM Big Sky Freshman of the Year, was joined on the Preseason Second Team by Kyleigh Hiser (Northern Colorado), Gretchen Harrigan (Sacramento State), Kayleigh Valley (Montana) and Ali Forde (Idaho).
North Dakota's Mia Loyd was named the Preseason Big Sky Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first team along with Apiphany Woods (Idaho State), Hayley Hodgins (Eastern Washington), McCalle Feller (Montana) and Jasmine Hommes (Montana State).
Robin Selvig, the coach of the defending conference champions Montana, was selected as the Preseason Coach of the Year, while Weber State's Tyschall Blake was named Freshman of the Year rounding out the Big Sky's CSM preseason honors.
