Cookus Named to CFPA Midseason Watch List

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Northern Arizona's Case Cookus has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Midseason Watch List for the 2015 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Trophy. The list includes twenty-four quarterbacks, seven running backs, and one wide receiver from the FCS.
Cookus, a greyshirt freshman, has completed 89 of 134 passes with just two interceptions. He has thrown for 15 touchdowns this season, and has rushed for one. He leads the nation in passing efficiency (189.0) and yards per pass attempt (10.55). Cookus ranks in the top 10 in passing yards per completion (15.89), completion percentage (66.4) and passing touchdowns (15). He also holds a top 30 ranking in another five categories as he has led NAU to wins over Stephen F. Austin, New Mexico Highlands, and Montana State.
All FCS players are eligible for the award. The award winner will be announced January 13, 2016.
