FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The 2015-16 Northern Arizona University golf team is off to a hot start, earning seventh and third-place finishes to open the fall season. The team shot the lowest round of the tournament last week at plus-2 290, and the defending Big Sky Champions look poised to make another run at a conference title come spring.

Sophomore Sierra Bezdicek is one the golfers the Lumberjacks will rely on if they are to repeat as Big Sky Champs this season. The native of Colbert, Wash., and the younger sister of senior teammate Savana Bezdicek has put together an impressive resume so far at NAU, shooting plus-4 or better in nine of her 27 collegiate rounds of golf and has earned three top-30 finishes.

Most recently, Bezdicek rallied in the third round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate last weekend and jumped six spots on the individual leaderboard from Saturday to Sunday, improving her total score in every round at the tournament.

Clearly, Bezdicek is not afraid of pressure situations, and she is always there to answer the bell when the team needs her. The same holds true when we put her on the hot seat for the following nine questions.
