ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team saw its two-match winning streak snapped by No. 63 in the nation, New Mexico, 6-1 as NAU falls to the 63^rd best team in the country. NAU falls to 2-3 on the season.

"We competed well today," said head coach Ki Kroll. "We will need to bounce back tomorrow against a very good Air Force team. Everyone fought hard and we will continue to improve with these strong efforts."

New Mexico started with the early advantage taking a tough doubles point away from the Lumberjacks with wins on courts three and one. After dropping the match on court three, NAU's duo of Alexandre Locci and Jordan Gobatie tied the match at 1-1 to force a deciding match. Locci and Gobatie defeated Rodolfo Jauregui & Augustus Ge 6-3 for NAU's lone win in doubles. The Lobos took the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court one from Hayden Sabatka & Bart Van Leijsen.

The Lumberjacks lone win in singles came from Gobatie at the No. 3 position in a three-set match against Jauregui. Gobatie dropped the first set 6-4 but rallied in the last two sets 7-6, 1-0 (11-9) for his first winning streak in singles this season.

Despite the score, NAU was close in just about every match dropping four three-set matches on courts one, two, four and six. Northern Arizona will be back in action tomorrow for a neutral site matchup against Air Force.
