Swimming & Diving Receives Scholar All-America Team Distinction

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – On the eve of the 2015 WAC Championships, the Northern Arizona swimming & diving team was honored as a 2014 Fall Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The Lumberjacks posted a semester GPA of 3.50 for the fall semester which was tied for 17th in the country among the nation's swimming & diving programs.

The Lumberjacks received the honor after yet another exceptional effort in the classroom by their student-athletes. They posted the highest semester GPA among NAU's athletic programs and had the most student-athletes to achieve a perfect 4.00 term grade point average (9). The 'Jacks also had the highest semester GPA in the Western Athletic Conference.

A total of 19 Lumberjacks posted a GPA of at least 3.50 during the most recently completed semester and in all, 24 of the team's 26 student-athletes were above a 3.00. As a team, NAU's cumulative GPA is 3.52

The CSCAA Team Scholar All-American award is presented to teams who achieve a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher.

The defending conference championships begin the WAC Championships on Wednesday in San Antonio, Texas.
