GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Carrying the momentum for yesterday's win over Big Sky opponent North Dakota, the Northern Arizona women's tennis team extend their winning streak to two, after a 6-1 win over South Dakota State extending their winning streak to two after closing out their week in Grand Forks.

"Today was a great team performance," said head coach Kim Bruno. "We elevated our tennis from yesterday and coming home with two wins on the road proves it."

Hailey Rochin got things started off in singles play as well as doubles with two wins giving NAU the early advantage. Rochin along with Marta Lewandowska picked up their second straight win in doubles over Tacy Haws-Lay and Beatriz Souza 6-3, giving NAU the early 1-0 lead. Rochin continued her stellar play into singles on court two against Ffion Davies. In a tight first set, Rochin defeated Davies 6-5 and Rochin left no doubt in the second set with a dominating 6-1 win in the second set to take the match.

At the No. 1 position, Johanna Vang continued her winning ways over Iasmin Rosa winning two in a row in singles play. Vang defeated Rosa 6-4 in the first set but was forced to a third set after falling to Rosa 6-3 on the second set. Vang took care of Rosa 6-3 to clinch the match at the No. 1 spot.

Marta Lewandowska dominated in her match in singles play against Beatrix Souza. Lewandowska won't the first set 6-1 and in the second set Lewandowska cruised to a 6-0 victory taking the match.

NAU now moves to 2-3 on the season riding a two-match winning streak before the next matchup in two weeks against Arizona State, on Feb. 20, down in Tempe.
