IRVINE, Calif. – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team ended their California road trip with a matchup against No. 60 in the country UC Irvine. The Lumberjacks were able to take only match to three-sets as UC Irvine defeated NAU 7-0 as Northern Arizona drops to 2-6 this year. This is the fifth ranked opponent NAU has played this season.

The closest NAU came to a win was on court one from Jordan Gobatie. NAU's senior went up against Sebastian Heim and Gobatie took the first set from Heim going the distance with a 7-5 win to take a 1-0 lead. Heim would eventually take sets two and three 6-4, 11-9 to defeat Gobatie.

UC Irvine would win on courts one and two during doubles play to take the early 1-0 lead over NAU. Adi Zilberstein and Kester Black squared off against the sixth best duo in the Southwest Region in Jonathan Hammel and Tyler Pham and fell to the UC Irvine duo 6-2. Eden Peleg played the 16^th best player in the Southwest Region in Nico Mertens on court two in singles play. Peleg would drop the 6-1, 6-3 match as UC Irvine took a 3-0 lead over Northern Arizona.

The Lumberjacks will take a week off from play until they head back out on the road for a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. on Mar. 14 for two matches against UNLV and Marquette.
