OGDEN, Utah – After a successful weekend in Las Vegas, Nev. Jordan Denesik of the Northern Arizona women's tennis team has been named Big Sky Player of the Week.

It was a historical weekend for NAU as the Lumberjacks went 2-1 and leading the way was Denesik going 3-1 in NAU's two victories over UNLV and UC Riverside. Denesik was the deciding match against the Rebels on court six and Denesik came up clutch with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 win to defeat UNLV for the first time since 1975.

To close out the weekend in Las Vegas, NAU faced UC Riverside and the junior from Anthem, Ariz. went undefeated with a 6-0 win in doubles paired with Livia Hollosy. Denesik then pulled off a 6-2, 6-3 victory in singles over Sophie El-Kara.

This is the first player of the week honor of Denesik's career as the junior has won five of her last six matches in singles. Denesik and the rest of the Lumberjacks will be back in action next Monday, Mar. 16, as NAU kicks off their Big Sky schedule with a matchup on the road against Northern Colorado.
