FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Make it five wins in a row for the Northern Arizona men's tennis team (7-8) as they defeated Idaho State 6-1 at Continental Country Club. The Lumberjacks move to 5-0 in the Big Sky remaining in first place.

"We are always happy to get a win at home and it was great to have a group of fans out here today to support our team," said head coach Ki Kroll. "We are going to have to keep things rolling as we head to Montana and hopefully we can be successful."

It was a slow start for the Lumberjacks in doubles but Felix Schumann and Eden Peleg got NAU its first win of the day on court three with a 6-2 victory over Orin Duffy and Cody Miller giving NAU the early 1-0 lead. After dropping the match on court two, NAU's Jordan Gobatie and Alexandre Locci came from behind to defeat Daniel Loebel and Bjorn Scheepbouwer 6-4 on court one, clinching the doubles point for the Lumberjacks.

Schumann continued his exceptional play throughout the day going undefeated with a 6-0, 6-2 win in singles on court five. Locci extended Northern Arizona's lead over the Bengals to 3-0 with a win on court two over Scheepbouwer 7-5, 6-3. Clinching the match for the Lumberjacks was Adi Zilberstein on court six defeating Duffin 6-1, 6-3 for the Lumberjacks fifth straight victory.

The victories continued to file in for NAU with a win on court four as Kester Black took down Josh Goodwin 7-5, 6-3 for Black's third straight win in singles.

"This is big because it is our fifth straight win," said Black. "We have been consistent in our matches lately and we are feeling really confident going into the weekend."

Northern Arizona now turns their attention to arguably its toughest road trip in the Big Sky this season against Montana and Montana State. On Friday, March 28, NAU will take on the Grizzlies in Missoula, Mont. before closing out the road trip against the Bobcats on Sunday, March 29, in Bozeman.
