OGDEN, Utah - Junior Julia Viberg was named the Big Sky Field Athlete of the Week this morning by the conference office for her performance in the women's discus throw at last weekend's Texas Relays.

Viberg finished second overall behind reigning NCAA Champion Shelbi Vaughn. She posted a career-best 56.17m on her second throw before posting another career-best of 57.07m on her final throw. Her mark ranks second in the nation. 

Viberg is a two-time Big Sky Champion in the women's discus and her mark ranks third all-time in conference history. She is studying business.

This marks the Lumberjacks third weekly honor of the outdoor season after Vernon Jamison and Brooke Andersen were honored last week. Northern Arizona track and field will be at Stanford and New Mexico this weekend.
