Two Weeks Until the NAU Spring Game
/ April 11, 2015
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.- With two weeks to go until Northern Arizona's Spring Game, the Lumberjack football team took the field today for a scrimmage. With both the offense and defense putting on a good performance it made for a highly competitive Saturday.
"I thought last week we had a great Saturday," said quarterbacks coach Tim Plough. "Today the defense brought it back and gave us some tough looks. Overall, I think we did a great job competing and coming back from some adversity. We're looking for leadership and character improvements, and if we get that we have plenty of talent to go with it. We feel good about the direction we're headed."
There were big plays on both sides of the ball for the Lumberjacks today, but one thing they will continue to work on is consistency. The defense has to keep applying pressure to the offense and in return the offense can't let up.
"I think we're really coming together with this new offense," said senior running back Casey Jahn. "Things are really starting to click. The wide receivers are playing out of their minds right now. I think we're putting together something that is going to be fun to watch once it's all perfected."
NAU's Spring Game will be on Saturday, April 25 at Lumberjack Stadium.
