Four 'Jacks Earn NFF Hampshire Society Honors

IRVING, Texas – Four Northern Arizona football players were named to the 2015 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society,  announced today by the NFF & College Hall of Fame. Seniors Austin Hasquet, Andy Bachelier, Craig Frum and Hayden Renning were all honored.

The honor society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career. A total of 817 players from 278 schools qualified for membership in the society's ninth year, setting a new record for the number of schools represented in the history of the program, which began in 2007.

Hasquet, a two-time Academic All-American linebacker graduated in three and a half years with a degree in biomedical science. Hasquet earned Dean's List honors every semester as he was a four-time Big Sky All-Academic selection and Golden Eagle Scholar-Athlete. He was recently named Golden Eagle Co-Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In December, Hasquet became NAU's first-ever NFF National Scholar-Athlete and a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell trophy.

Bachelier competed for NAU for three seasons. He was a three-time Big Sky Fall All-Academic honoree, Golden Eagle Scholar (3.0 GPA), and ADs Honor Roll. In his senior season he appeared in all 12 games for the Lumberjacks. Bachelier received a degree in exercise science this past December.

Frum, a linebacker for the 'Jacks, appeared in all but one game this season with nine starts. He finished his career as a two-time Big Sky Fall All-Academic, Golden Eagle Scholar (3.0 GPA), and ADs Honor Roll recipient. Frum graduated in December with a degree in criminology & criminal justice.

Renning, a Flagstaff native, graduated in December with a degree in visual communication. He appeared in every game this season. The long snapper was a three-time Big Sky Fall All-Academic, Golden Eagle Scholar (3.0 GPA), and ADs Honor Roll recipient.
