RENO, Nev. – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team concluded its road trip traveling to Reno, Nev. to take on Nevada. The Lumberjacks (8-9) came away with the doubles point but it was not enough as Nevada (7-9) came away with four wins defeating the Lumberjacks 4-3.  

For the first time in three matches, the Lumberjacks came away with the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Putting the Lumberjacks on the scoreboard first was Johanna Vang and Marta Lewandowska on court one with a 6-3 win over Sheila Morales and Blaga Delic. Clinching the doubles point for Northern Arizona was the senior Sara Maria Spruch and the freshman Livia Hollosy with a 6-3 win over Monika Magusiak and Sara Korzeniecki to give NAU the 1-0 lead.

Northern Arizona needed three wins in singles to come away with a victory but the Wolf Pack pulled out four wins from courts two, four, three and one to come away with the victory. Northern Arizona's two wins came from Lewandowska and Sara Brown on courts five and six. Lewandowska got NAU its first win in singles over Magusiak 6-3, 6-4 for her second win in her last three matches. Brown took down Elissa Pavelea 6-3, 6-1 for her fifth win of the season in singles.

The Lumberjacks will be back in action this week against Southern Utah on Wednesday, April 8, in Flagstaff in the first of three home matches for NAU this week.
