Kemper Competes at USATF Outdoors

EUGENE, Ore. – Northern Arizona's Deante Kemper competed at the USATF Outdoor Championships this afternoon at the legendary TrackTown USA in Eugene,Ore. Kemper competed against some of the best high jumpers in the nation today all vying for a spot on the world team.

With an opening height of 2.15 meters (7 ½ feet) for the event, Kemper was unable to clear it as he finished the meet without a clearance.

"This was Deante's first trip to a championship meet of this caliber," said coach Jade Ellis. "Today he competed amongst some of the top guys in the nation and it was a chance for him to see how a meet like this is run. It was a reminder that he deserves to be at this high level and it gives him motivation for next year."

After redshirting this past outdoor season, the San Diego native will have another season to compete for the blue and gold in 2016 with his eyes set on another conference title and being amongst the best in the nation.
