2015 Schedule
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – After a successful 2014 campaign, one that saw the Lumberjacks sweep the Big Sky Championships and the men's squad finish fourth in the nation, the Northern Arizona men's and women's cross country teams have released their schedule for the upcoming 2015 season.
The Lumberjacks will host the 35th annual George Kyte Invitational at Buffalo Park to open the season on Sept. 5, followed by the Dave Murray Invitational on Sept. 18 in Tucson, Ariz.
“Our schedule this year is very exciting,” said head coach Eric Heins. "I enjoy having a variety of meets that are close to home, but also ones that put us up against very tough competition. We like to challenge ourselves, and I believe this schedule does just that.”
The Lumberjacks will compete in their first meet outside of Arizona on Sept. 25, when they travel to San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif. After two weekends off, the Lumberjacks will return to action on Oct. 17 in the highly-anticipated Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis. The Lumberjack men will look to improve on last year's sixth-place finish in the same event, their lowest placement all season.
Northern Arizona will wrap up its regular season at the Arizona State Invitational on Oct. 23 in Tempe, before competing in this year's Big Sky Conference Championships in Ceder City, Utah, on Oct. 31. The men's squad is looking for their ninth-consecutive conference title, while the women will look to become back-to-back Big Sky champs.
For the second year in a row, the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships will be held in Albuquerque, N.M., on Nov. 13, where the Lumberjack men and women placed second and fourth last season, respectively. Northern Arizona will close out its 2015 season at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21 in Louisville, Ky.
