OGDEN, Utah – The Northern Arizona University men's tennis team fell to Weber State this afternoon, March 20, with a final score of 5-2. The Wildcats remain undefeated (5-0) in Big Sky matches and at the top of conference standings. The Lumberjacks put up a fight against the current league leader, including yet another win for doubles tandem Jackson Lee and Felix Schumann as well as a pair of solo victories on courts one and five.

"We looked great at No. 3 doubles today," Head Coach Ki Kroll commented. "But we couldn't get up in our other two matches. Tim [Handel] and Jackson [Lee] also played very well beating two pretty talented opponents."

On court three, Lee/Schumann took down Weber State's Landon Barlow and Hou-En Chen 6-3 to garner NAU's lone doubles win of the afternoon. The doubles pair has strung together back-to-back victories now and is 7-2 overall, 4-1 against Big Sky opponents. Lucas Taylor and Eden Peleg were also paired back up today as Peleg has been out of the lineup the last several matches. Although the two fell at No. 2 doubles versus Todd Fought and Jakub Gewert, they are still 5-1 this season.

In singles play, it was freshman Tim Handel and Lee who shined for the 'Jacks. Handel trumped Jakub Gewert at line one in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Gewert was 4-6 coming into today's match. Lee also reeled in his second straight singles victory on court five to give Northern Arizona one of its two match points. He also topped Barlow in straight sets 6-1, 7-5, handing him just his second loss on court five this season.

The Lumberjacks will have a double header in the Aquatic and Tennis Complex on March 26 versus Big Sky foe University of North Dakota and Arizona Christian. Match times are set for 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
