FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona swimming & diving program will host their High Altitude Swim Camp in the new Aquatic and Tennis Complex on the NAU campus from May 30-June 3. The camp will be available for swimmers between the ages of 8-18 years old.

The High Altitude Swim Camp is designed to improve a swimmers' technique in all four strokes – freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke – as well as starts and turns. The goal of the camp is to improve an individual's knowledge of all aspects of swimming including nutrition, strength, teamwork, mental training and race strategies.

Every camper will receive a camp t-shirt and swim camp and a low camper-to-staff ratio will provide personalized instruction for competitive swimming for each participant. Housing will be available in the Mountain View Hall on the university campus with 24 hour supervision.

The resident cost (housing included) is $500 for the five-day camp. Resident campers must be at least 12 years as of September 1, 2016. For commuter campers, the camp cost is $350. Private lessons – three 30-minute lessons – are also available for $105. Swimmers should also already be proficient in freestyle and backstroke and be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards comfortably.
