NAU Breaks Up Roster for Bryan Clay, Mt. SAC This Week
/ April 13, 2016
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – After competing just last Saturday in Tucson, it's a quick turnaround for the Northern Arizona University track and field team who will send a majority of its athletes to Azusa, Calif., for the 2016 Bryan Clay Invitational. Some Lumberjack long distance and throws athletes, however, will make their way to Cerritos College Falcon Stadium in Norwalk, Calif., the site of this year's Mt. SAC Relays.
The NAU squad is coming off another successful weekend on both the track and in the field, where five different Lumberjacks nabbed first-place victories and the women's 4x400m relay team set a new NAU record (3:43.49) that sits at No. 1 in the Big Sky Conference rankings. In fact, eight different Lumberjacks currently hold the top time/mark in the Big Sky in their respective events. Additionally, with the times they recorded at the Jim Click Shootout last Saturday, the NAU men's and women's relay teams rank first overall in the conference in both the 4x100m relay race and 4x400m relay race.
Action from the Bryan Clay Invitational gets underway Thursday, April 14, with field events at 9 a.m. and track events at 3:40 p.m. As for the Mt. SAC Relays, the men's hammer throw will lead things off Thursday at 10:30 a.m., while track events will commence with the men's 3,000m steeplechase at 6 p.m. All times are MT.
Full schedules for both events can be found here as well: Bryan Clay | Mt. SAC
